CultureCloud identifiers

id.ccids.eu is the namespace for persistent identifiers minted by CultureCloud, a federated infrastructure for cultural heritage data.

What an identifier looks like

https://id.ccids.eu/{uuid}

A resource — a record held in one of the CultureCloud instances.

https://id.ccids.eu/{construct}/{uuid}

A CultureCloud construct, such as an argumentation belief recorded in CIDOC CRMinf — for example https://id.ccids.eu/crminf/i2/{uuid}.

If you followed an identifier here

You will have received a 404, and that is intended. These identifiers are names: each is unique, and none will be reassigned. They do not yet resolve to a description of what they name.

Resolution — a redirect to the record in the collection that holds it — will be added when a party outside CultureCloud needs it. Until then, an identifier is meaningful in the data where you found it.
